THE EDEN VALLEY:
The beautiful Eden Valley in Cumbria.
The River Eden is entirely Cumbrian and is one of the few large rivers in England that flows northwards. The source of the river is on the high limestone fells above Mallerstang Common, near the North Yorkshire border, and makes its way across eastern Cumbria, with the hills of the North Pennines to the East, and the fells of the Lake District to the west, to Carlisle. Here it merges with other rivers to form the great Solway Firth estuary, before reaching the open sea, 90 miles (145 km) from its source.
The Eden Valley is green and fertile and remarkably quiet considering how close it is to the Lake District.
LAKE DISTRICT:
England's largest National Park is the Lake District.
There are mountains and valleys, hills and forests, woods and moors, lakes and rivers, towns and villages.
It includes Scafell Pike - its highest mountain, Wastwater - its deepest lake and thriving communities like Keswick and Bowness-on-Windermere. A major tourist attraction and a little bit of heaven in a relatively small area of North West England. Stunning scenery and wonderful villages and towns make the Lakes a perfect venue for days out and holidays and numerous activities.

Once in a while I travel to other parts of this lovely country and always have my camera with me.
